Listen More Than You Talk
The best salespeople ask their customers questions and then let the customer do most of the talking. From my experience the same applies to teaching.
Here, Summer (AKA "Wint") and Serena (AKA "Meany Sereany") lead the class is a test prep session. Wint had taken the time to create a review game that excited the students and got everyone to participate.
As the teacher I get to listen to the students and get a much better idea of their levels of understanding versus when I'm doing all the talking. Like a doctor, I can better diagnose their "illnesses" and heal their ailing knowledge.
This sensible approach has once again produced miraculous results in the classroom, but is not possible without the dedication of every student I am fortunate to have or the leadership of students like Summer and Serena. Thank you girls. You allow me to do the right type of individualized teaching that needs to be done.
Esha also developed a terrific PowerPoint for the class which I'll post later.
