Stuart's Spectacular Students

This is dedicated to my amazing students. The goal is for each and every one of them to feel unstoppable by the time they walk out of the classroom door for the final time in May. This chronicles their journey; their own Chronicles of Self-Actualization.

Does Any of This Make a Difference?

Teaching and parenting is like being a farmer or botanist. We dedicate our lives to the growth of others. Day after day we plant seeds of possibility, feeding and nurturing the vision of their most beautiful selves.

This takes being a great visionary, not "hoping", but seeing very clearly and without doubt everything they can blossom into..............This means seeing past and through the dirt covering their unsprouted selves......much like we have to do with ourselves.

We toil at this day-after-day, wondering if our extra efforts will really pay off in the long run.

And then we get our answer: Yes it does.

This is from the "Not Now, Not Ever" Post from New Year's Eve 2008.

Hi Mr. Stuart,
This is Kelly. I like the pictures, and when you talked about Bella first learning how to talk is sounds so cute! You also helped me learn to take on all challenges and not to be scared of fears too. For example I was always terrified of tumbling and I always told myself I couldn't do it but now I successfully have a standing back-hand spring, round off back-hand spring, and recently I got my front-punch, front walk-over, and I'm finally being able to connect my back-hand springs!!! Thank you so much for helping all your classes sometimes you regret it but it always pays off afterwards! I hope to see you at Epic soon so I can show you!

I am so proud of you Kelly. And the courage you have chosen to have after our year together is much needed evidence that how I teach is for both the short and long term success of students like yourself.

And that is why I do it, because you are worth it.

Mr. Stuart

*This student came into last year as an "average" student. Now in 6th grade she is in all advanced classes and getting A's and B's without spending hours stressing and studying. With a brain making sense of her subjects, and a heart full of confidence and courage, she is happy and successful.

She is what we all want.......Alive with her possibility, and able to water and nurture herself!
