Big fossil found in Ike-ravaged home's front yard

CAPLEN, Texas - A homeowner whose beachfront property in Texas was destroyed during Hurricane Ike has found a football-size fossil tooth in the debris.

Westgate believes the fossil is from a Columbian mammoth common in North America until around 10,000 years ago.

The tooth, which looks like a series of boot soles or slices of bread wedged together, is expected to be sent to the Texas Memorial Museum in Austin.

More than 1 million people fled the Texas coast because of Hurricane Ike.

What Freedom Means to Me

I wonder what freedom means to me?

I think freedom means that I can be able to think for myself. Being able to think for myself will set me free. It also means that I can do what I want when I want. If I'm able to do that I’ve attacked life.

Wouldn’t it be cool if you could grab life by the horns and ride that bull day and night? I’m like a panther every day attacking my fears and struggling with my brain and always thinking.

So that’s what freedom means to me and how I feel about it.
